Shadhili Tariqa

Qutbul Akbar Ghouthul ash’har Hazrat seyidinaa Imam Noorudheen Abul Hasan ali ash shadhili (Raliyallah….) passed away on 12th of shawwal Hjri 656. Imam shadhili’s union with Allah is commemorated every year throught the world, especially in Asian countries like India, Srilanka and Pakistan. In Tamilnadu Imam shazuli’s Urs is celebrated in various places like Madurai, Kayalpattinam, Puthanatham, panaikulam, adiraampattinam, koothanallur, melappalayam, athikadai, sakkimangalam, bodhakudi, puthu aayakudi etc.,

Following Madurai, A grand function of Imam shadhili is to be celebrated on 11-11-07 sunday. Puthanatham is the only place where the entire city muslims join together to celebrate Imam Shazuli’s urs, because there is no other tariqa except shadhilya in puthantham, and people there are blessed to have shadhilya as their only tariqa and they do their aa’maals regularly. Most of them are Textile Businessmen spread over various parts of India. Even if they Don’t come to their native town on Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul alha, Wherever they be, they come and get together on Urs of Imam Shadhili (What they call as SHEIKHUNA KANDHOORI). All this credit goes to AL Valiyyul kaamil MEER AMJAD IBRAHIM (HAZRAT AS SAGHIR) Rah.. whose tilmidh (student) Moulana Abdul Qadir was the one who taught those people about this Tariqa.
